A Gorgeous Day

A Pretty Darn Gorgeous Day

I could complain of a sleepless night,
Of body pains that caused me fright.
But here I am, breathing still,
As morning light spills over the sill.

The sun is blazing, bold and free,
Waking every bird and bee.
A hummingbird hovers, quick and bright,
A tiny marvel, a fleeting delight.

The aches do linger, I won’t deny,
But there’s a ribbon of blue stretched ‘cross the sky.
Wonders of nature await outside,
So I’ll set my worries gently aside.

Yesterday is in the past,
Now this moment of beauty is here to grasp
The breeze calls softly, the world feels wide—
Possibilities endless are on my side.

Yes, I’m alive to live today,
To stumble, to laugh, to find my way.
The sun, the birds, the earth’s embrace—
Remind me: there’s beauty in every space.

So here I go, one step, then two,
Grateful for skies so brilliantly blue.
The aches may stay, but they don’t own me,
For this day, my friend, is possibility.
